Handling & further information
Glazing
Insertthe lenses without tension. Do not grind the lenses too large. Check with optical glass voltage tester. Before inserting the lens, carefully heat the frame front upside down statically (80 – 100°C; 30 to 60 sec). Insert the lenses from the inside of the front of the spectacles, taking care not to damage the coating. You can find the technical dimensions of the frame in the customer portal.
Technical information:
- Glass base curve: 4 (if the curve deviates from the glass, the groove should have this base curve)
- Minimum edge thickness of glass: 1.8 mm
- Refractive index: min. 1,6
- Groove depth: 0.6 mm
- Groove width: 0.6 mm
Note: Do not remove the silicone nose pad from thick lenses during the glazing process, as it will be difficult to reinsert later.

The spectacle fronts from the Fusion collection cannot be thermally adjusted. This can cause the wooden insert to come loose. Rolf accepts no liability for any resulting damage.
FlexLock joint
Base material bean
It all starts with a fine powder. It comes from the castor bean, a plant with amazing properties. It grows quickly and hardly needs any water. It does not compete with crops or food plants and grows where other plants have long since reached their limits.
The castor oil plant thrives in dry areas and impresses with its vigorous growth. While beeches or spruces only gain a few centimeters year after year, the so-called miracle tree reaches a height of up to six meters within four months. And best of all, it sprouts anew every year.
The raw material for our bean spectacles comes from this plant. Efficient, resource-saving and supported by the power of nature.
Certified material

Wood finishing material
Spectacle front inlay made of real wood veneer.
In the Fusion collection, we use natural real wood inlays to create unique frames. By carefully selecting different types of wood, the frames are given individual characteristics in terms of color and grain. We also use dyed wood veneers . We source the high-quality veneers for our Fusion frames from a German partner supplier who adheres to strict requirements regarding origin and working conditions.
Wood is a living material that undergoes natural changes over time due to UV radiation. To counteract this process, our Fusion frames are equipped with UV protection. Please inform your customers that these changes are part of the personal patina of the frame and are unavoidable.
We would like to point out that the socket must not be immersed in liquids or cleaned under running water, as this may cause damage.

Care
Fusion collection | bean.wood
The lenses and frames are best cleaned with the Rolf glasses cleaning cloth. Use the enclosed Rolf glasses case for daily storage.
The frame must not come into contact with concentrated solvents, be immersed in liquids or cleaned under running water. These processes attack the sealing of the frame and can lead to damage. The frame must not be cleaned with ultrasound or in an ultrasonic bath.
The wood used for the front of the glasses is a living material that changes naturally over time due to UV radiation. To counteract this process, Rolf Fusion spectacle frames are provided with UV protection and a sealant that protects the wood from external influences. Please inform your customers that these changes are part of the personal patina of the frame and are unavoidable.
Protection
Rolf Bohnen frames are made from natural materials and will show discoloration over time due to external influences and UV radiation. These changes are unavoidable and are part of the personal patina of the frame. If the frame is not worn, the Rolf glasses case offers the best protection.
