LYNX on the shortlist for the State Prize for Design 2026

The international jury of the State Prize for Design 2026 has made its decision.

31 projects made it onto the shortlist – including LYNX, our children’s glasses from the Substance Kids collection. A nomination that we are delighted about. Because it shows that children’s eyewear can be more than just a good companion.

The decision was made by an international jury of experts:

A jury with different perspectives – and a keen sense for forward-looking design.

What you'll find here!

Designed for Action

LYNX is everything – but well-behaved.

Sporty double bridge, distinctive edges, built for movement. This model is aimed at kids who are always in action. Climbing, romping, falling down, getting up. Glasses that go with you – light, stable, flexible.

Made from the castor bean from the miracle tree – a plant that grows six meters in four months. 3D-printed in Tyrol, with our patented FlexLock joint. No screws, no metals, maintenance-free. Only five components: Front, two brackets, two O-rings. Finished.

The FlexLock joint makes all the difference: it adapts to every movement, withstands strain and always returns to shape. This is exactly what children’s glasses need – durable, clever, ready for anything.

“The submissions for the State Prize for Design 2026 impressed with their combination of creative clarity, social and ecological responsibility and innovative problem solving. “

Jury member Patrick Lüth, (Snøhetta)

For us, this means that LYNX not only stands for good design, but also for an approach that combines craftsmanship, materials and function. And that takes kids seriously – with eyewear that is as active as they are.

The State Award for Design

The State Prize for Design is awarded every two years by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism. Organized by designaustria, it is considered the most important award for product design and spatial design in Austria.

This year, 31 projects were selected for the shortlist from 176 submissions. We are delighted to be on the shortlist together with Lavazza Tabli with the coffee machine with packaging-free capsules, Genium X4 foot prosthesis and other interesting projects. The winners will be announced on April 16, 2026 at the MuseumsQuartier Vienna.

Until then, keep your fingers crossed.
