From the very beginning, Rolf has focused on the design and development of unique eyewear that stands out through innovation and sustainability. The company quickly became known for its patented wooden hinges and its focus on an unconventional design and shape language – at the time inspired by classic cars. Even today, the names of the wooden glasses are based on classic cars such as Topolino, Roadmaster and Foursome.

Johannes Wacker joined Rolf in 2014 and took over as Head of Research and Development. Today, as Head of Design, he continues to make a significant contribution to the further development of technologies such as the Flexlock joint.
