Insights behind the scenes

When you enter Rolf's company building, you are surprised at what many hard-working hands design and create. The atmosphere is friendly, informal, young and infectious. A hodgepodge of people not only work on frames here - they work on a vision.

The wooden glasses

Before we even start, we choose exactly which wood we are going to use – we only use the best. We then take another close look at each piece, make sure that everything fits and then clamp it onto our machines.

Milling is done step by step. After the first run, we take the part out, check that everything is correct and sort out what doesn’t fit. The workplace is cleaned and we prepare everything for the next milling step – the material and tools are already ready.

Now it’s time to get filigree: we glue the joints and nose pads, sand the transitions nice and smooth and engrave the logo or design. Everything is checked again carefully – if there is a small mistake somewhere, it is repaired immediately.

Before we seal, we take a very close look at the entire frame. Every edge, every surface must be perfect. And very importantly, the hinge must function properly – we make no compromises here.

Almost done! Now we bend the frame again, check the surface and test whether the lens will fit properly later. The lenses are then inserted and the glasses are booked into the system – ready for the next step.

Finally, each pair of glasses is packaged with great care – so that they arrive safe, beautiful and on time.

The bean glasses

Design & Construction

Our glasses are designed and developed here in Weißenbach. The design is unique – we think about every detail so that each pair of glasses not only looks good, but also fits perfectly and makes a real statement.

Print

The design is created in a high-tech 3D printer – and from a very special material: castor bean powder. We use state-of-the-art printing technology to create the perfect shape of the glasses. This turns an idea into a genuine piece of craftsmanship.

Loops

The glasses are processed in a special grinding drum until they have the perfect surface. Here, every detail is perfected once again so that the glasses are really comfortable to wear later on.

Glasses are created

One front, two temples, two rubber rings and a smart design. The FlexLock joint is characterized by the power of simplicity. No screws, no wearing parts – for maximum stability and durability.

Insert glasses

Of course, the lenses should not be missing! We use the right lenses for your needs – regardless of whether you need a visual aid or just want to go about your day in style.
