This year, Rolf has expanded its 3D printed eyewear selection with the Fusion collection, a line combining design innovation, technical features and natural materials.

“Our 3D-printed glasses use a unique process that creates a durable,
flexible and virtually indestructible product. Castor beans are
the perfect material for our glasses, as they are incredibly
resilient, lightweight and sustainable….”

Rolf uses 100% plant-based material from castor beans. The beans undergo a meticulous process to transform them into a material which is suitable for eyewear production. Initially the beans are processed into a paste, which is then utilized in a 3D printing process to create detailed, precise and lightweight frames. The award-winning Wire Collection, which also features styles for kids, also showcases colourful bio-based threads inlaid into the frames, combining style and bright hues with the sustainable direction in eyewear, for which the company has become well-known.
