The entire process of production of eyewear frames is determined by ROLF spectacles itself with a lot of passion. Almost without suppliers we produce a unique, one-of-a-kind, piece of eyewear frame by hand. It took us two years of intensive research and fiddly work until our wooden frames were ready for sale. True to the slogan "Just try it out" we start our idea to produce a eyewear frame entirely made of a natural material in the cellar of our home house. The first frames were pressed in shape  with a converted milking machine. The natural material wood is not an obstacle - it is a starting point to develop new techniques and innovations. These techniques and innovations are combined with the high standards of workmanship and design, which ROLF spectacles demands.

Den gesamten Ablauf der Brillenherstellung bestimmen die Entwickler aus Tirol selbst und mit viel Hingabe. Fast ohne Zulieferer entsteht aus jeder Brillenfassung in Handarbeit ein Unikat. Das ROLF-Team hat zwei Jahre intensiv geforscht und getüftelt bis sie das heutige Resultat in den Händen halten konnten. Frei nach dem Motto „Probieren geht über studieren“ wurde in den eigenen vier Wänden nach den perfekten Produktionsmethoden geforscht. So wurden die ersten Brillenfassungen mit einer umgebauten Melkmaschine in Form gepresst. Auch das Material Holz ist für ROLF kein Hindernis, sondern der ideale Ausgangspunkt, um neuartige Techniken zu entwickeln, die sich mit den hohen Ansprüchen an Verarbeitung und Design verbinden lassen.
