Vom 17. bis 20. September 2009 fand in Paris die SILMO statt, eine der bedeutendsten Optikmessen weltweit. Die Firma ROLF aus Tirol präsentierte sich auf dieser Messe zum ersten Mal – und das mit überwältigendem Erfolg. Für die von ihnen entwickelte Brillenfassung aus Holz (Modell „IMPERATOR“) erhielt ROLF den SILMO D’OR-Award in der Kategorie „FRAME TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION“. ROLF konnte sich mit dem geschützten Brillenmodell vor der Expertenjury gegen etablierte Unternehmen durchsetzten.

The SILMO d'Or reward the creativity and the inventive spirit for a whole profession. But still more it underlines the interest of the professionals, producers and opticians, for the recognition of a quality control mark.

Created in 1994, this Price is an originality and quality control mark which rewards the intrinsic values for our profession: innovation, technology and creativity.

The jury consists of experts in the Technical, Scientific, Health, Optics and Eyewear, fashion and Design fields, the panel is tasked with naming 5 products per category. The final jury, consisting of these experts, plus the French and international professional press and international experts, for its part, is tasked with voting for the winner from among the 5 nominees in each category.
